Supervise a third-shift team to progress plant scale jobs for development projects, validated APIs, chiral stationary phases, reagents and portfolio products in a timely, safe, GMP-compliant and cost-effective manner.

  • Assumes responsibility to progress jobs and assign tasks to Third shift operators and technicians in the plant
    • Receives instruction from shift transfer meeting
    • Guides issuance of hours and materials
    • Support continuous improvement of process controls and quality results for repeat manufacturing products
    • Oversees cleaning of plant suites and equipment for new jobs
  • Participates in the training, evaluation, and assessment of second shift chemical operators and technicians
    • Assigns/coordinates team responsibilities
    • Team performs process transfer and scale-up according to Batch Records
  • Coordinates with Plant Manager and Second Shift Site Coordinator
    • Seeks advice and counsel regarding technical chemical processes, process deviations, process failures, or chemical release
    • Promotes safety culture and act as secondary contact for authorities if needed to address any injury or other incident that occurs during third shift operations
    • Enforces GMP Compliance
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs for
  • Practical knowledge of FDA enforcement
  • Ability to operate various equipment required for executing chemical
  • Ability to oversee the execution of chemical processes by operators and
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers and the general
  • Able to effectively analyze data and/or problems, and ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; a good understanding of organic synthesis: with 5+ of related experience and/or training; and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
