Job Description
The primary objective of this position is to provide program management for the Health and Safety programs at the Company RI facility. This position ensures that Occupational Health and Safety protection remain as a core value in the culture of the site.
What The Job Entails
- Management of the site Safe to Work Permit Programs
- Management of the site Industrial Hygiene Program
- Management of the site Health and Safety Audits, Inspections and Incident Investigation Programs
- Management of the general employee Health and Safety programs such as medical surveillance and construction safety
- Oversight of all regulatory records and reports associated with the site Health and Safety Programs
- Work with Technical Services to ensure compliance with the site PSM program and regulations
- Ensure regulatory reports are filed on time for site Health and Safety programs
- Maintain compliance with all existing site Health and Safety permit programs, including:
- Hot work
- Lock out tag out
- Confined space
- Line/process entry
- Excavation
- Function as a liaison between the company and State or Federal OSHA regarding site Health and Safety items
- Supervise site contractors whose work can have an impact on the facility Health and Safety compliance
Our ideal candidate
BS/MS in safety, health or related field.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety Program implementation and management; preferably with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Thorough knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 and 1926, General Health and Safety programs, PSM, and regulatory reporting.
This position supports a broad spectrum of activities and knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety. There is a great deal of direct interpersonal interaction which involves clear communication, an awareness of employee needs and concerns. This position requires an articulate individual that is highly knowledgeable in applicable requirements, able to influence others, and balance, prioritize and achieve multiple objectives. This position must be able to frame the facilities Health and Safety regulatory programs to outside regulatory agencies in order to confirm compliance.
