Supervisor QC qPCR, 3rd shift

Job Description

The QC qPCR Supervisor is responsible for supervising the 3rd shift qPCR team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of testing to meet product turnaround requirements. The role combines leadership with technical expertise, requiring active engagement in laboratory operations as needed to support workflow, troubleshoot issues, and maintain continuity.

The schedule for this position is Wednesday through Saturday, 9 pm to 7 am. This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and oversee daily operations of the 3^rd shift qPCR team, ensuring testing is performed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with turnaround time goals.
• Provide hands-on guidance and training for analysts performing qPCR and related molecular assays.
• Author and/or review studies, protocols and method validations.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of qPCR methodologies and laboratory processes.
• Provide guidance and technical support to PCR laboratories, including troubleshooting instrumentation and assay performance issues.
• Function as a liaison between QC and other departments to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.
• Hands-on experience with PCR and nucleic acid extraction/quantification, or other molecular biology techniques strongly preferred.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree or equivalent practical experience required; Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biological Sciences or a related discipline preferred.

Experience: 5+ years’ experience required; 10+ years’ experience preferred.
