Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs and preferences;
- Develop product strategies that align with company goals and customer needs;
- Coordinate with marketing, sales and manufacturing departments to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization’s financial goals;
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to create product concepts and prototypes;
- Prepare cost analysis when developing a new product;
- Present new ideas/opportunities to executives;
- Ensure every step of the product development process proceeds as planned;
- Make adjustments to product plans to meet business needs;
- Create marketing campaigns;
- Work directly with customers when needed in order to achieve quick project turnaround;
- Incorporate research and concept development projects and capabilities with market analysis, industry intelligence and customer monitoring to support product roadmaps and innovate new product enhancements;
- Coordinate with marketing, sales and manufacturing departments to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization’s financial goals;
- Lead team with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives;
- Work directly with customers when needed in order to achieve quick project turnaround;
- Manage product development reports as defined on the organization chart;
- Follow cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. in Food Science or related area); along with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in product development;
- A proactive leader able to manage multiple projects and personnel;
- Has strong analytical skills with demonstrated technical competence and initiative ;
- Basic knowledge of flavors and flavor applications;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive deadlines;
- Works effectively with people from varying functions and levels;
- Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication;
- Flexibility to travel approximately 25%;
- Knowledge of database software; order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
