Plant HR Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manages the payroll process on a bi-weekly basis for US hourly and salaried employees
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of payroll updates including, but not limited to, new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Utilizes company systems to review and approve payroll timecards
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Enters new hire paperwork as well as status changes into HRIS system
  • Responds to and resolves inquiries regarding paychecks, time management, time clocks, payroll polices and processes researching discrepancies and coordinating with ADP as required

Core HR Support for Bethlehem Plant:

  • Attends and participates in site leadership council meetings
  • Builds working relationships with all levels, departments and functions in the plant conducting frequent floor interaction employees with ability to have a flexible schedule for occasional work during the 2nd and/or 3rd shifts, as required
  • Promptly responds to inquiries regarding pay, benefits, policies, procedures and programs
  • Coaches and counsels department managers and supervisors on matters of discipline, conflict resolution, employee relations, conducting investigations, recommending and assisting in the development of corrective action documentation as required
  • Works with management and senior HR in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Works with Talent Acquisition and Management to support staffing needs
  • Assists local plant leadership is developing a healthy team and culture through training and other innovative programs
  • Represents the plant’s interest in the corporate HR realm and ensures the plant’s needs are addressed timely with a high level of customer service
  • Conducts annual employee one-on-one meetings providing summary of trends, key highlights/outcomes and proposed action plan to address the same to Sr HR and Site Manager
  • Provides and reports appropriate monthly metrics as required
  • Facilitates communications at town hall meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or Manager experience within a high production manufacturing and warehouse environment
  • Time/Attendance/Payroll and use of HRIS systems required; ADP and Oracle preferred
  • Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in areas such as change management, coaching/developing employees, dispute resolution, performance management, employee relations, communications, training, compensation, payroll and benefit administration and recordkeeping
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel (data manipulation, charts/graphs, pivot tables and Vlookups), PowerPoint and Outlook required
