1997 Electrical Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots existing Allen-Bradley PLC, VFD’s, motors, instrumentation
- Manages automation projects from design thru competition
- Ensures GAMP compliance with all automation systems
- Designs electrical and electronic components, systems, and equipment
- Provides technical expertise and training to in house techs and operators
- Develops, tests, and implements SCADA/HMI systems
- Troubleshoots HMI, SCADA, and PLC software and hardware issues
- Oversees development, implementation and maintenance of data collection systems including assisting users in getting easy access to data
- Works with Automation Specialist as priority dictates
- Reviews new equipment electrical specifications
- Owns plant electrical systems and makes sure they stay up to date with electrical codes
- Responsible for control systems wiring design, specification of electrical instruments
- Responds to emergency automation and electrical situations
- Works closely with the plant instrument technician in installation, troubleshooting, checkout, validation, and startup of new instrumentation
- Develops URS, FRS and other protocols and documents as required, including IQ, OQ, PQ protocol
- Ensures accurate completion of all validations documents such as IQ, OQ, PC protocols
- Assists in representing the plant during factory acceptance testing (FAT) of equipment to be supported, maintained and/or calibrated
- Designs, develops, manages, and completes instrument and automation projects as required
- Ensures FDA, cGMP compliance for all metrology and automation related records

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical/Automation
- At least 3 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in project management preferred
- Experience with highly hazardous chemicals desirable
- Proficient with Microsoft Desktop, excel, word, project, Accad, networking, Ethernet, and communication protocols
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley/Rockwell Logix PLC Hardware and Software and RSView Software
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (GAMP, cGMP, ISO)
- Proficiency in validation and IOPQ’s
