Our client, a well-established R&D equipment service provider to life science companies across the USA and Europe, is seeking full-time professional field service engineer with mass spectrometry experience to service Agilent LCMS instruments in order to support growing demand for laboratory instrument maintenance and repair services.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repair of Agilent LC and LCMS instruments for customers, which include pharmaceutical laboratories, research institutions, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on laboratory instruments as well as the refurbishment of instruments.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and account team members to troubleshoot, diagnose, provide repair updates, train end-users, and ensure full resolution of all customer needs.
  • Promote the customer’s long-term interests by extending the life of their instruments.
  • Establish fluency in relevant service documentation, including but not limited to preventative maintenance service reports, IQ/OQ documentation, and other service documentation.
  • Create and properly maintain customer service logs and documentation.
  • Accurately record service reports, time entries and the use of repair parts.
  • Follow Company and customer on-site procedures, including customer GxP protocols, safety requirements, company dress code requirements, and SOP’s
  • Represent and promote the Company in a positive, professional manner.
  • Assist the customer account team by contributing your technical expertise to resolve customer questions, troubleshoot customer issues, diagnosis potential instrument issues, and identify additional opportunities to serve the Company'scustomers.
  • Attend service training as required. Participate in and provide training and development for colleagues in your area of expertise.
  • Participate in research and development to expand the Company's service capabilities and parts network.
  • Assist in refining and improving the Company's documentation and training curriculum.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience servicing mass spectrometry instruments, and experience with Agilent LC and LCMS instrumentation (SQ, QQQ, TOF and QTOF) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in analytical instrumentation including HPLC and mass spectrometry.
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanical assemblies and vacuum systems.
  • Understanding of HPLC and mass spectrometry theory and how to interpret service documentation.
  • Proven customer service and organizational skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel to customer locations to perform field service, including overnight travel

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a major illustrating mathematical and/or engineering aptitude, OR
  • High School Diploma/GED and 4 or more years of experience servicing electronic/mechanical equipment, OR
  • Equivalent military education, OR
  • Participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program
