Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Total oversight of capsule and stick pack production and other areas consider “specialized packaging” (bagging lines, sachet lines, etc.)
- Developing and supervising direct reports in a manner that fosters accountability and a safe sense of urgency;
- Develop and implement SOPs, trainings, SOCs, cleaning procedures, and other pertinent processes required for the department to succeed;
- Oversee and supervise the execution of approved processes to manufacture high quality measured batching, capsules, blends, bottles, bags and stick packs that meet customer specifications and aligns with the companies OEE goals and financial requirements;
- Make necessary staffing/overtime adjustments that align with the company’s weekly goals and direct labor requirements;
- Lead the interviewing process to fill leadership positions on your shift;
- Ensure regulatory compliance in EHS;
- Foster a continuous improvement culture, focused on achieving zero accidents and driving waste out of our manufacturing processes;
- Train our employees on safe practices, encourage employee involvement, and address safety issues in the workplace;
- Comply with rules of the government and certifying organizations including the FDA, Organic, Kosher, Halal, NSF and BRC;
- Drive best practices in sanitation and cGMPs;
- Customer retains must pass thorough inspection and be physically/systematically in the proper location;
- Provide consistent leadership in managing people and providing all employees a positive, engaging work environment;
- Complete monthly one on ones in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure execution of inventory transactions is being properly followed to insure accurate inventory of >95%;
- Drive sustainment of all kaizen events
- Follow cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
- Responsible for the safety and regulatory compliance of all employees;
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must be able to create and maintain systems for keeping up on details on multiple projects; providing reminders of upcoming events, administering and directing tasks between parties, and creating and maintaining files on various projects;
- Must be able to organize, prioritize and make decisions;
- Must continually demonstrate a very strong attention to detail, careful execution of tasks, and regularly check your work before submitting as drafted or completed;
- Must be able to extract and analyze data from our JDE/RFS system;
- Needs a strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
- The Shift Manager is responsible for the safety and regulatory compliance of all employees;
- Responsible to create a culture where safety is a priority and it is the responsibility of each employee to comply with occupational safety and health standards issued under OSHA and to follow all rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Company to ensure that their actions do not impact the health and safety of themselves or others.
