Process Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies yield losses and drives yield improvements
- Responsible for mass and energy balances for each process step
- Works on increasing capacity and yield of the manufacturing processes
- Identifies and drive the implementation of process improvements
- Leads ESG initiatives including energy measurements and improvements, waste reduction, and moving to a zero-discharge facility
- Responsible to ensure production, cost, yield, safety, quality, and environmental goals are achieved for production processes and products
- Designs, engineers, manages, implements and starts-up plant capital projects
- Participates in/write/execute URS, SOPs, technical instructions, validation protocols and qualifications
- Leads and participates in PHA/HAZOPS/ (Process Hazards Analysis/Hazardous Operability Analysis) and Incident investigations
- Initiates, manages, and completes projects to support production and process improvements
- Conceives, conceptualizes, designs, develops, manages, and implements capital and other projects in to increase capacity, reduce costs and achieve other production, cost, yield, safety, quality, and environmental goals
- Manages a variety of replacement-in-kind and other maintenance projects
- Other duties as assigned

- Experience with process troubleshooting, process improvement, and projects in a chemical plant/pharma API plant
- Thorough understanding of principles d practices of chemical & pharmaceutical manufacturing, utility systems
- Working knowledge of cGMP, regulatory guidelines, quality, and safety industrial norms based on site and corporate requirements
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical validation and GMPs preferred
- Working familiarity with highly hazardous chemicals, including chlorine and anhydrous HF is highly desired.
Education/Experience
- BS in Chemical Engineering required plus 5+ years’ experience working in a chemical, pharmaceutical API manufacturing facility.
- PMP certification desirable.
- Experience with plant automation desirable
- Experienced in Project Management
